Andrew Sylvester Stewart

Rev. Andrew S. Stewart 65, of Summerville, SC was born on July 15, 1960, to the late Golethia Lomax Stewart and the late Rubin Stewart Sr. He transitioned from his earthly life on November 2, 2025.

He was born in Abbeville, SC, during his adult life he moved to Summerville, SC. He was a graduate of Abbeville High School the class of 1979. He was an outstanding basketball player, where he earned a basketball scholarship to Central Wesleyan College. He was baptized at the Church of Christ. He became a minister at Mt. Calvary A.M.E. Church in Lancaster, SC where he preached his trial sermon. He later became a Reverend under Bishop I.V.

Hillard. He was employed with IFA ROTORION in Summerville, SC. He made a great impact in his local community as a Scout Leader of Boy Scout of America. He inspired young men to have confidence in themselves and to develop life skills.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Clyde Lomax, one sister Anne Marie Stewart-White, three uncles Marion Lomax, James Lomax, and Willie Brooks, one Aunt Lillie Mae Bryson and his stepmother Yvonne Stewart.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son Courtney Stewart of Columbia, SC.; two daughters Andrea (Antione) Stewart Witherspoon of Atlanta GA.; Ariel Stewart of Columbia SC.; one sister Lysonia Stewart Percival of Maryland; five brother's Rubin Stewart Jr. of Lancaster, SC.; Joe Stewart of Abbeville, SC.; Anthony Stewart of Moore, SC.; Larry (Wendy) Stewart of Greenville, SC.; and John (Yashika) Stewart of Greenwood, SC.; two grandchildren Braylen Witherspoon and Sa'maria Byrd, former wife the mother of his children Amanda Moore Stewart Johnson, one aunt Lila Stewart Johnson, and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
