Mrs. Carrie Hunter Hill, age 72, was born in Abbeville County, Wife of John Henry Hill. She passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at home. Born October 10, 1950 to the late Allen Eugene Hunter and Carrie Hunter. After retiring 15 years from Westwood Elementary and 20 years of homecare, she became ill.
Carrie Hill was a faithful member of Mt. Clement C.M.E. Church. She sung with the Mt. Clement Gospel Singers. She also dedicated her time and efforts to help young kids to sing the gospel of Jesus. Her first choir was the Mt. Clement Jr. Singers. Carrie loved praying and singing for the Lord.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 32 years are children, Freddie (Carol) Hunter, Brenda Hunter, Itilian Hill, Trisia (Dale) Shalamor; brothers, George Hunter, James (Marie) Hunter, Calvin (Geraldine) Hunter, Raymond Hunter; sisters, Ruby (Ben) Williams, Alice Jennings, Linda Baker. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Janae Hunter, Quein’Darrius Hill, Alezia Hill, Sharice Hill, Obadiah Hill, Anthony Crawford, Lawanda Hill; four great grands, Tileah Bryson, Tamia Bryson, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Wilbert Hunter, father, Allen Eugene Hunter, and brothers, Willie Hunter and Henry Hunter.
