Claudia Beatrice Terry Dubose transitioned to her heavenly home on March 3, 2025. She was born the 11th child of the late Jesse and Leah (Aiken) Terry, Sr. on July 28, 1929. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Claudia was united in marriage to the late Tolbert Isiah Dubose.
At an early age she joined Mt. Zion AME Church, Hodges, South Carolina where she remained a dedicated and faithful member until her health declined. While actively serving for many years, she served as: Church School Superintendent, President of the Local Laymen’s Organization, a member of the senior choir, the Stewardess Board, and the Women’s Missionary Society. Claudia also held positions in the District, Conference, and the Episcopal Level of the Laymen’s Organization of the AME Church. Beyond the church, she was also a lifetime member of the NAACP.
Claudia leaves to cherish her memories one sister-in-law, Annie K. Terry of Abbeville, SC; one brother-in-law, Lucious Bowie of New Castle, Delaware; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces & nephews, cousins, and friends.
Claudia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; six brothers, Herman Lee Terry, William Andrew Terry, Regis Napolean Terry, Jesse Terry, Jr., James Marion Terry, McKinley Terry; seven sisters, Bethena Terry Bobo, Helen Terry Lamb, Lucia Terry Adams, Selena Terry Jones, Amanda Terry Bowie, Curtis Terry Wilkes, and Gladys Terry.
