Dexter Pierre Parks, 55, also known as “DP,” departed this earthly life on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was born in Lincolnton, GA to Eloise Clark Ferguson and the late Michael Parks.
Dexter was a 1989 graduate of Lincoln County High School. After high school, he was employed at Mayfair Mill in Lincolnton, GA and Reeves Construction Company in Thompson, GA. Growing up, he was fascinated with road construction and said he desired to pursue a career in that field. Dexter was affiliated with First Baptist Church and Tabernacle Baptist Church both of Lincolnton, GA and Rockford Church of Abbeville, SC. He was the life of the party with a true sense of humor. There was never a dull moment around him, and he cherished spending quality time with his family. Dexter was a die-heard Alabama Crimson Tide Roll Tide fan.
Dexter leaves to cherish his precious memories his beloved wife, Corliss Parks; mother, Eloise Clark Ferguson; three daughters, Dabny “Dean” (Nurudeen) Abidoye of Savannah, GA, DeAna Mercier of Macon, GA, April Parks of Lincolnton, GA; two brothers, Michael (Melissa) “Anthony” Parks of Lincolnton, GA, Jeffrey (Tonya) Parks, of Washington, GA; five bonus brothers, Lance (Idella) Starks of Augusta, GA, Julien Davis of Columbia, SC, Eldrick Payton, Lynn Payton, Chico Davis of Plum Branch, SC; four grandchildren, Nevaeh Abidoye of Savannah, GA, Maesyn Norman, Maddox Norman, Lenox Mariney all of Lincolnton, GA; one God-child, Madeline Blackmon of Lincolnton, GA; one brother-in-law, David (Shelby) Jerome Grant of Calhoun Falls, SC; two sister-in-law’s, Jacqueline (Calvin) Callaham, Cynthia (Gregory Gray) Wideman both of Anderson, SC; father-in-law, David Wideman of Calhoun Falls, SC; step-mother, Julia Parks; step-father, Richard Ferguson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Dexter was preceded in death by his father, Michael Parks; one nephew, Austin Parks; grandmothers’, Rosa Lee Smith, Louise Appling Clark; grandfathers’, John Clark and Miles Parks.
