Eddie Clarence Dunlap was born October 17, 1931 in Abbeville, SC to late Luscious, Sr. and Alice Smith Dunlap. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He joined the Shady Grove A.ME. Church in which he served as a life-long member. He loved listening and singing Gospel Music. One of his greatest pleasures on his Christian journey was sharing the stage with his brothers and childhood friends was giving honor and glory to God through song as a member of the Traveling Harmonizers Gospel Quartet. He also sung on the Shady Grove Choirs for more than 50 years.
Eddie graduated from J.S. Wright High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He retired from Reelco of Abbeville.
Eddie was preceded in death by beloved sons, Willie J. Ford and Michael Dunlap; three brothers, Lucius Jr., Samuel and Thomas Dunlap; three sisters, Willie Mae Walker, Lessie Jernigan, and Lillie Mae Brooks.
Eddie, leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life; Beatrice H. Dunlap, his devoted wife of 57 years; two sons, Jeffrey Ford Sr. (Audrey) and Jeffrey Dunlap; one daughter, Cheryl Pinckney; seven grandchildren, two sisters, Minnie (Eugene) Gray of Abbeville and Alma Ruth Franklin of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who have all been deeply touched by his life.
Eddie, was a very special man who loved God, family, friends, and community. His warm smile and kind heart will be missed, but never forgotten.
