Edith Ramey

Edith Ramey, 87, was born in Abbeville, SC on July 22, 1935 to the late Allen and Phoebe(Brown) Ramey. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Edith was next to the youngest of 20 siblings. She was preceded  in death by her beloved daughter Rebecca Ann Ramey and her parents Allen and Phoebe Ramey. Nine brothers; Walter, Willie Joe, Daniel (Dan), Woodrow, Solomon(ST), Ishmell (Mel), Henderson, Willie Allen and Leroy(LR) Ramey. Ten sisters; Leola Ramey Robinson, Cora Ramey Brown, Lucille Ramey Squire, Rosella Ramey Dawson, Virgil Ramey Houston, Onley Ramey, Mary Ramey Barksdale, Bessie Ramey Liddell, (twins) Susie Ramey Leach and Sarah Ramey Boyd.

Edith relocated to Greenwood, SC in her early years where she became employed with Monsanto Industry Co. for over 10 years and later became a radio dispatcher for Moore Taxicab. She was a faithful member of Westin Chapel AME Church of Greenwood, SC.

Due to her failing health she was admitted to McCormick-Post Acute Rehabilitation Healthcare where she spent the last years of her life. She leaves to cherish her memories the staff of McCormick Post-Acute Rehabilitation Healthcare, a special niece Naomi Boyd Jones(John V.Jones,III) of Dayton, Ohio, two nephews Ronnie Leach of Charlotte, NC, Ricky Boyd of Saluda, SC and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
