Mrs. Eliza Coleman, 94, was the wife of the late Wayman Coleman, Jr. She was the mother of nine children. Eliza was a lifelong resident of Abbeville, SC. She passed away peacefully at her home on April 8, 2026. Eliza was born to mother, the late Helen Gray and father, the late Johnny Morton.
Mrs. Eliza Coleman was a member of Long Cane AME Church. She loved quilting, gardening (especially flowers), fishing, Western TV shows, and crime TV shows. She enjoyed seeing the bad guys get caught.
Mrs. Eliza Coleman was preceded in death by her husband, Wayman Coleman, Jr.; two sons, George Coleman, John Coleman; two daughters, Ruby Peters, Antionette Coleman; one brother, Joseph Gray; four sisters, Minnie Kinard, Isabella Ambrose, Ada Crawford, Margaret Priester; two daughter-in-laws, Beatrice Coleman, Brenda Coleman; two brother-in-laws, Jack Wilkerson, Clarence Benson; and one sister-in-law, Ida Gray.
Mrs. Eliza Coleman leaves to cherish her precious memories two sons, Willie G. Coleman, Wayman Coleman III; three daughters, Helen Coleman, Eliza (Richard) Chapelle, Dr. DeLoria (Torin) Savoy; four brothers, Alfred (Ernestine) Gray, James A. Gray, Ernest Gray, Edgar (Zindorah) Gray; three sisters, Olivia Wilkerson, Violet Benson, Johnnie Mae McKie; one son-in-law, Stanley Peters; two daughter-in-laws, Shirley Coleman, Beatrice Coleman; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
