Fannie Tate Obituary

Fannie Lou Bowie Tate was born in Mount Carmel, South Carolina, on August 10, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Leana Gary Bowie. She was a faithful and devoted member of Shady Grove AME Church. She served in the church as a senior choir member, missionary, stewardess, and hospitality committee. Her community activities consisted of Ladies Aide #107. 

She attended Abbeville County Training School in Abbeville, South Carolina. She was a long term employee at Abbeville Shirt Makers. She was also a homemaker and loved baking for friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her late husband James Tate, two brothers; Henry Bowie, Eugene Bowie Jr.;and one sister, Kathrine Bowie. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, James C. Tate of Greenwood SC; a daughter, Carolyn Tate of Abbeville SC; one grandson, Quincy Tate (Lakeisha) of Goose Creek SC; Godchildren, Shannon Donaldson of Mauldin, SC, Rashaun Valentine (Lauren) of Lugoff SC; one brother in law Joseph Brownlee (Doris) of Antreville SC, five sister in laws, Darcel Brownlee-Lewis of Greenville SC, Addie Lae Brownlee, Rebecca Brownlee, Janie Brownlee all of Antreville, SC, Bessie Bowie of Greenwood SC; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
