Franklin Brooks, Sr., 78, was called home on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Abbeville Area Medical Center in Abbeville, SC. He was born in Abbeville, SC to the late Wade and Lucille Lee Brooks, Sr.

Franklin loved fishing, repairing cars, hunting rabbits, and squirrels. He also loved watching his favorite TV shows, Gunsmoke, Cheyenne, The Rifleman, and The Andy Griffth Show. Franklin loved wearing overalls and a new baseball cap.

Franklin leave to cherish his precious memories two sons, Freddie (Anita) Hughey of Abbeville, SC, Franklin Brooks, Jr. of New York; three daughters, Nikki (Tyrone) Croker of Houston, TX, Debra Hughey, Joeann (Howard) Aiken both of Abbeville, SC; three sisters, Genevieve Brooks-Martin, Mary Lee Brooks-Lyons both of Abbeville, SC, Gloria Brooks-Campbell of North Carolina; ten grandchildren; Lucas Lewis, Channcy Croker IV, Finn Croker, Tieshai Lewis, Dieshai Lewis, Tilas Lewis, Isis Croker; three grandchildren who were raised in the home, Erick Lewis, Dominique Cole, Natalie Cole; five great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Horace Martin of Abbeville, SC; a special friend, Ralph Gray; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Franklin was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, William Brooks, Walter Brooks, Samuel Brooks, Wade Brooks, Jr., Willie Brooks; three sisters, Fannie Mae Brooks-Watts, Lynette Brooks-Ford, and Mamie Brooks-Pruitt.
