George Devlin

George Devlin, 92, departed this life on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Self Regional Healthcare, Greenwood, SC. He was born on August 8, 1932 in Greenwood, SC, to the parentage of the late William and Fannie Brown Devlin.

George attended the public schools in Greenwood, SC. He was a faithful member of Flat Rock AME Church. George worked for many years in textile manufacturing.

George will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loving wife, Rosa Mae Devlin; ten grandchildren, Lenore Belcher of Gastonia, NC, Terrence (Sheila) Jones of Charlotte, NC, Kalema Williams, Sherrie Foust both of Greenwood, SC, Jermaine Black, Rasheka (Keio) Tucker White, J’Vun Goodwin all of Abbeville, SC, Natalie Devlin of Naugatuck, CT, Andre Perkins of Concord, NC, Jason Moore; 23 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

George was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Devlin; seven brothers, Cain Devlin, James Devlin, Joe Slappy, Early Slappy, Howard Slappy, Willie Slappy, David Slappy; two sisters, Fannie Devlin, Mary Devlin; and one great grandaughter, Dakota Scott.
