George Henry Tucker

George Henry Tucker, 75, departed this life on Monday, September 2, 2024 at Hospice of Palliative Care of the Piedmont, Greenwood, SC. He was born on February 25, 1949 in Mt. Carmel, SC, to the parentage of the late Tommie and Gladys Harris Tucker.

George is a high school graduate of Mims High School. He was a member of Rockford AME Church. George served in the United States Army, and was released with honorable discharge. He later began working in textile manufacturing.

George will forever be cherished in the hearts of his brother, Deacon John (Emma) B. Tucker of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Mary Reed of Mt. Carmel, SC, Bonnie Kay of Anderson, SC; three brother in-laws; two sister in-laws; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

George was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doretha Green Tucker; brother, Tommie Tucker, Jr.; and sister, Dorothy Tucker.
