James Daniel Calhoun

Mr. James Daniel Calhoun, 80, entered eternal rest on Monday, April 7th, 2025 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC. He was born on July 2nd, 1944 in Mount Carmel, SC to the late Johnnie Mae Calhoun.

James was a faithful member of the Haigler Street Church of Christ. He graduated from Mims High School. After many years in the textile industry, James retired from Mohawk. He enjoyed being in his shop painting cars and doing body work, but most of all, playing Mary (his guitar). James had such a loving spirit that he never met a person who did not become a friend.

James leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife of 36 years, Linda (Anderson) Calhoun; two sons, James Jones of Abbeville, SC, Johnny (Bridgette) Jones of NC; two daughters, Shelia (Alton) Calhoun Allen of Elberton, GA, Addie Theresea Calhoun of Athens, GA; three brothers, David (Bonnie) Bryant of Calhoun Falls, SC, Tom Bryant of Abbeville, SC, Michael (Verna) Bryant of Anderson, SC; four sisters, Mozell Bryant, Francis Bryant, Mary Bryant, Patricia (Tracey) Roundtree all of Calhoun Falls, SC; eight grandchildren, Quintin McIntosh, Clinton Rucker, Tresvon Rucker, Taj Letman, Whitney Letman, Tykeisha Jones, Zavier Jones, Wilayjah Dunn; five great grandchildren; three brother-in-laws, Cornell (Brenda) Anderson of Abbeville, SC, Leonard Anderson, Pat Anderson both of Mount Carmel, SC; four sister-in-laws, Bonnie Anderson of New York, Leola Lomax of Mount Carmel, SC, Luella (Ronnie) Lewis of Calhoun Falls, SC, Minnie Martin of Mauldin, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

James was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, William Calhoun.
