Jesse James Wright

Jesse James Wright, 67, entered his eternal rest on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at his home. He was born on August 12, 1956 in Abbeville, SC to the late parentage of Jesse and Allie Mae Sanders Wright.

Jesse worked in the Abbeville Mill immediately after attending Abbeville High School. He then became employed at JP Stevens in Calhoun Falls, where he worked faithfully for 15 years without missing a day. Meanwhile, he became employed at Long Cane Primary, where he took pride and joy in working and being a light for the children. He went on to retire from Flex Technologies.

Jesse married his true love, Mary Wright, on December 31, 1985. He was led to his salvation during his sickness and was a member of Long Cane AME Church. He was a very quiet, yet very loved man who enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends.

Jesse leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife, Mary Black Wright of the home; three sons, Jason (Terri) Black of Columbia, SC, Jasper (Carrie) Black of IN, Jermaine Black of Abbeville, SC; two daughters, Tiffney (William) Webb of Greenwood, SC, Fonda (Tim) Martin of Abbeville, SC; five sisters, Jeanette (William) Dominquez of FL, Janie (Anthony) Dulaney of Anderson, SC, Jacqueline (Robert) Anderson of Elberton, GA, Rachel Wright of FL, Elaine (Leroy) Hamilton of Abbeville, SC; 8 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jesse Alfonzo Black; two brothers, Eugene Wright, Joseph (Denise) Wright; and one sister, Katherine Wright.
