John Edward Floyd

John Edward "Eggie" Floyd ,age 71, went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2024. He passed away at 128 Henderson Street, Greenwood, SC, at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Floyd. John was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Walter Floyd. He gave his life to Christ on October 6, 2023. John was a member of Little Mountain AME Church. John was a lover of music, especially the Oldie Goldies. Eggie as he was affectionately called, loved to talk, be with his family, and give a laugh or two. He retired from Rodney Plant in Abbeville, South Carolina.

Reared in the home were Danielle Thomas, Landrella Ramey, Bernard Ramey, Nicole Williams, and Antoinette Floyd.

He leaves to cherish his memories his sisters, Barabara Floyd-Ramey, Patsy Starks, Janice (Frank) F. Wilson, all of Abbeville; his brothers, James Floyd of Conway, South Carolina, Wallace "Pete" Floyd of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Richard (Loretta) Floyd of Greenwood, South Carolina; his goddaughter, Matavia Elmore of Abbeville, South Carolina. John also leaves behind to cherish his memories 30 nieces; 17 nephews; and a host of friends and family.

John was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Allen; parental grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Floyd; two brother in laws; one nephew; and four nieces.
