Judy Elane Sherard Gary

Ms. Judy Elane Sherard Gary, 69, peacefully entered eternal rest at 3:28 PM on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Hospice of the Piedmont, Greenwood, SC.  She was born in Abbeville, SC on September 17, 1951 to the late Walter Sherard, Sr. and Alice Mary Ray Sherard.  After the death of her mother, Judy and her siblings were raised by their maternal grandparents, the late Wesley and Anniese M. Ray.  Judy was a homemaker and was the widow of the late John Lewis Gary and she was a member of St. James AME Church.

Judy’s memories will be cherished fondly and lovely by her two sisters, Janie Aiken of the home and Marian (James) Slappy of Anderson, SC; a brother, Robert Lee (Lauretta) Ray of Georgetown, SC; two great nephews who lived in the household with her, Tyron Pahn of the home and Brieyon (Katrina) Brown of Jacksonville, FL; her aunt, Lilla Ray of the home; her uncle, James (Carolyn) Ray of Madison, FL; her sister-in-law, Valerie Sherard of Abbeville, SC; her god-daughter, Chanell Wilson of Abbeville, SC. She will also be greatly missed by many other family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandparents; sister, Jessie Bell Sherard and brother, Walter Sherard, Jr.

Service for Ms. Judy E. Gary will be on Sunday, January 10, 2021. The family is at the home.
