Khallid Ozaiah-Sai' Smith

Khallid Ozaiah-Sai Smith, 30, transitioned into his eternal home on April 12, 2026, at Abbeville Area Medical Center in Abbeville, South Carolina. He was born on February 16, 1996, in Abbeville, South Carolina, to Carlos Smith and Sophia Bryson.

Khallid was a devoted member of The Life Center. He had a deep love for the outdoors, and hunting and fishing were among his greatest passions. A proud graduate of Abbeville High School, Class of 2014, Khallid went on to build a career in construction, working as a skilled equipment operator.

Known for his caring spirit and leadership, Khallid served as a mentor to his godson, Aden Harrison, and was a source of guidance and encouragement to many. He was lovingly reared in the home of Louise “Aunt Laine” Owens and Reggie “Hump Dump” Owens, who helped shape the man he became.

Khallid leaves to cherish his memory his three beloved children: two daughters, Khloie Smith and Kynlee Smith, and one son, Bryson Smith; his mother, Sophia (Lamar) Bryson-Hix; his father, Carlos Smith; one brother, William Culbreath; two sisters, Kiara Smith and Shuntoria Reid; his grandmothers, Shirley Johnson and Eleanor Strother; his grandfather, Rev. Michael Smith; great-grandmother, Margaret Smith ; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

Khallid was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Lee “Smiley” Bryson, Sr.
