Ms. Lillie Mae Bryson, of 83 Thomson Circle, Abbeville, SC, answered God’s call on Monday, September 25, 2023. She was born in Ninety Six on May 27, 1939 to the late Mamie Hudson and James Graham, Sr. She was a long-time faithful member of Long Cane A.M.E. Church, where she was a Stewardess and served on the Pulpit Aid Committee. She worked as a loving and caring housekeeper for numerous families in the Abbeville area. She not only tended the homes; but she helped raise the children of the families that employed her. For this, she is well known by almost all who lives in Abbeville. She also worked with Folville Manufacturing and the Monsanto Corporation both in Abbeville; retiring in the early 1990’s.
Lillie Mae was a sweet woman with an infectious smile and laughter that lit up the room. She loved meeting people, she loved talking, she loved her grandbabies, and she loved her “SNACKS”. So it can be said, she loved the sweeter things in life.
Lillie Mae Bryson leaves to cherish her memories ten children: six sons, James (Deborah) Graham, Abbeville; Robert (Gloria) Bryson, Due West; Mark Bryson, Abbeville; Joe Bryson Abbeville; Ervin (Carrie) Bryson, Ware Shoals SC; Chris Bryson, Abbeville; four daughters, Dorothy Bryson, Abbeville; Mary Campbell, Augusta, GA; Georgia Wharton, Lillian (Frank) Cunningham, Abbeville; one sister, Barbara Waters, Philadelphia, PA; 22 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Marion Lomax, James Lomax and John Allen Lomax; and one sister, Goletha Stewart.
