Marilyn (Wilson) Lee

Marilyn Wilson Lee, 60, transitioned into her eternal home on March 12, 2025, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC. She was born in Abbeville, SC on March 31, 1964 to Alex Tillman Jr. and the late Vera Wilson.

Marilyn was a member of Glovers AME Church in her early years until she married and became a member of Saint Mary AME Church, where she was the president of the Women’s Missionary Society. Marilyn was a graduate of Calhoun Falls High School Class of 1981. Marilyn was employed with the State of South Carolina for over 20 years. She retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections as a Corporal in January of 2020.

Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, John E. Lee; two sons, John S. Lee of Spartanburg, SC, Carmello Lee (of the home) of Abbeville, SC; two daughters, Tanesha (Bryan) Sanders of Abbeville, SC, Jalasia Lee of Beech Island, SC; one brother, Billy (Marie) Cade of Calhoun Falls, SC; two sisters, Joann (Leon) Johnson of Abbeville, SC, Kathy (Reginald) Wharton of Calhoun Falls, SC; six grandchildren, Cameron Lee (of the home), Kaiden Lee of Greenwood, SC, Michaela Lee of Abbeville, SC, Harlynn Lee of Greenwood, SC, Bryana Sanders of Abbeville, SC ; three devoted uncles, Frank Wilson of Abbeville, SC, Warren Wilson of Abbeville, SC, Daniel (Ciesha) Wilson of New Jersey; devoted Goddaughters, Aziya Patterson, Shanelda Norman; a devoted Godson, Javal Daniels; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will cherish her memory.

Marilyn was preceded in death by a daughter, Janna Lee; two brothers, Danny and Steve Wilson; one, uncle, Lewis Wilson; two aunts, Annie Ruth Patterson, Mattie Henderson; a nephew, Willie Wilson; and one Goddaughter, Shanessa Postell.
