Mary Coleman Obituary

Mary Pearl Robinson Coleman, 76, departed this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Self Regional Healthcare, Greenwood, SC. She was born in McCormick, SC to the late William Arthur and Sallie Pearl Robinson Williams.

Mary was a faithful member of Haigler Street Church of Chirst where she served as a member of the kitchen commitee and a vacation bible school teacher. She was a high school graduate of JS Wright High School. After graduating, Mary started a career in the textile industry. She was a dedicated employee of Abbeville Mill Plant, Abbeville, t-shirt Plant, and Monsanto. Mary then became a cook for Higher Heights Daycare. Once the daycre was no longer open, she became a homemaker until her health declined. Mary loved to cook and sew. She was a true fashionista that enjoyed caring for and helping others. Mary had a heart of gold, and if you knew her then you couldn’t help but to love her.

Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories one son, James Edward Coleman, Jr. of Aiken, SC; one daughter, Tonita Coleman Power of Abbeville, SC; two brothers, John (Bernice) Lewis of NC, Tim Tillman of Anderson, SC; five sisters, Bertha Williams, Helen Morton of Abbeville, SC, Sallie Poole of Calhoun Falls, SC; Ollie Mae Norman of Boston, MA, Willie Jean (Fred) Earl of Anderson, SC; seven grandchildren, Tawana Power, Toka Power, Raymond “Roscoe” Power, Edward J. Coleman, Ariel Coleman, Makayla Coleman; one grandchild reared in the home, Taquel Coleman of Abbeville, SC; six great grandchildren, Jamarius Power, Ja’Kobe Power, Kiran Hunt, Miyalah Norman; two great grandchildren reared in the home, Isaiah Coleman, Kaleb Coleman both of Abbeville, SC; two brother-in-laws, Willie Coleman of Abbeville, SC, George (Carrie) Coleman of Conneticut; three sister-in-laws, Deborah Williams of North Carolina, Brenda Sue Coleman, Ophelia Coleman both of Abbeville, SC; three special cousins, Betty Jean Sanders, Josephine Martin, Elizabeth Campbell; three devoted friends, Sylvia Anderson, Patricia Riley, Shirley Coleman; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Edward Coleman, Sr.; one brother, James Williams; two sisters, Bessie Lee Williams, Bennie Cobb.
