Mr. Phillip DeVaux, 68, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Abbeville Memorial Hospital in Abbeville, South Carolina. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. Willie DeVaux, Sr. and Mrs. Maggie Louise DeVaux; and three brothers: Mr. George A. DeVaux, Mr. Willie DeVaux Jr., and Mr. Ernest Cade.
Phillip attended his freshman year at McCormick High School then transferred to Abbeville High School for the completion of his high school experience.
He worked for more than ten years with Reelco and ultimately retired from Burnstein with more than twenty years of service. He was an avid baseball enthusiast and enjoyed lake fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Joyce DeVaux; three sons, Mr. Phillip Elon (Tessa) DeVaux of Iva, South Carolina; Mr. Joshua M. Starks of North Carolina; and Mr. Brandon White of Abbeville, South Carolina; one daughter, Ms. Sha'Naye Starks of North Carolina; four brothers, Mr. Joe M. (Mrs. Marquetta) DeVaux of Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Archie (Mrs. Fritzella) DeVaux of Irmo, South Carolina, Mr. James O. DeVaux of Abbeville, South Carolina; and Mr. Thomas L. (Mrs. Valerie) DeVaux of Augusta, Georgia; two sisters, Mrs. Georgia D. Hampton of Augusta, Georgia, and Ms. Eula M. DeVaux of Greenville, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Mr. Phillip E. DeVaux, Jr., Telonna DeVaux, and Elijae Brown; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
