Veronica Denise (Marshall) Tinch

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, cousin, and friend passed away Thursday, March 15, 2024 at Prisma Health in Greenville, SC. Veronica Denise Marshall Tinch (63), nicknamed NeNe, was born April 27, 1960 in Abbeville, SC to Willie G. Marshall and the late Thomas Marshall. Denise was a devoted founding board member of Tabernacle of Deliverance and Praise in Anderson, SC Denise was educated in Massachusetts until 1976 when she moved back to Abbeville. She graduated from Abbeville High School with the class of 1978. In high school she took up cosmetology, and upon graduation she started a career in her respective field. After a few years she attended Piedmont Technical College to obtain her degree in Business Administration while working at Autec. Following her first degree, she obtained an Associate’s Degree in Medical Coding from Limestone University. Denise had many career ventures. She started working with Piedmont Technical College’s TRIO program in 2009. She loved her students dearly and thoroughly enjoyed traveling with them until the program ended. She concluded her working career in 2019 after retiring from the Burton Center.

Aside from working, Denise enjoyed traveling, baking with her grandchildren, attending and volunteering at church., watching anything on BritBox, sitting under her gazebo, driving Mrs. Daisy (Carolyn), and spending time with family. Her favorite hobby of them all was attending her grandkids events where she was always the loudest in the crowd, and taking them to and from practice. If you had the pleasure of speaking with her you’ll often find her saying “I’m just peachy” and “Help the body Christ!”

Beyond her career and hobbies, Denise was a loving and caring wife and mother. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her husband, Gene Tinch; mother, Willie G. Marshall; her four children, Diko (Tamica) Tinch, Syreeta Tinch, Marcus (Ashley) Tinch, Alexus Enwright; five grandchildren, Ambria Gilliard, Mykal Tinch, Mariya Tinch, D’Kodi Tinch, A’Keianna. She also has a special God-Daughter, Tissa Morales. Additionally, she leaves behind two sisters and two brothers, Belinda Marshall, Carolyn Marshall, Allen (Terri) Donaldson, Leon (Myra) Marshall. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.
