William Waller Obituary

Elder William Henry Waller affectionately known as “Punkin”, age 76, departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 20, 2024, at his home. Born in McCormick, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Jesse James and Willie Bell Lyons Waller on March 11, 1948.

Elder Waller met and fell in love with the love of his life at the age of 17. He always shared that his mother shared tips with him as a young man on how to select his wife. With God as his guide, he met Mamie Leola Rapley and their journey to life as one began. They dated for 6 and a half years, married, and began their life of ministry in Columbia, South Carolina where they lived until his death.

Elder Waller was a faithful and devoted leader at Chrisitan Fellowship until the COVID Pandemic. He served as the Youth Pastor opening their home to hundreds of youth teaching and training them about God’s Word. As an Elder they continued to open their doors to many as they transitioned to adulthood, encouraging them to be diligent in living a godly life.

At the age of 3 years old, Elder Waller was diagnosed with Polio. As a child, he never let anything stop him. He lived a fruitful life and worked for 39 years as an Interior Decorator. He also used his gift to design their dream home. Elder Waller and Mamie Leola’s life was a love story that God created them for each other because they celebrated their love with two additional wedding ceremonies.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: George, Charles, and Jesse James Waller.

Those who celebrate and cherish loving and precious memories are: his devoted wife of 53 years, Mamie Leola Waller; two brothers: Rev. Lucion (Rose) Waller, Cokesbury, SC; Rev. Johnnie (Bobbie Jean) Waller, Calhoun Falls, SC; four sisters: Bessie (Albert) Woods, Abbeville, SC; Rebecca Brownlee, Antreville, SC; Leila Waller, Philadelphia, PA; Laura Gillerson, Greenwood, SC; his mother-in-law: Mrs. Mamie Hill Rapley Pinson;  brother-in laws: James T.
